AN IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

The Zonal Cultural Centres are established to bring the indigenous cultures of the zone closer to the masses, especially to the rural populace and to the underprivileged, and make them understand, experience, educate and enjoy this cultural variety of our country. Thus, the primary mandate of ZCCs is the promotion of folk and tribal arts, especially rare and vanishing arts, and all are requested to kindly keep it in mind while requesting sponsorship.

All Institutions, including bodies under the Member States and NGOs, seeking the support of the Zonal Cultural Centre (ZCC) for sponsorship of artists may please note to ensure that the requests are received at our office before April 30th of the financial year concerned and duly recommended by their State’s Secretary, Department of Culture.

The application should clearly state the support sought/received from all other agencies. Therefore, it should include support from private, State and Central Govt bodies such as Sangeet Natak Akademi (SNA) and the Ministry of Culture (for instance, the CFPGS).

If approved by the competent authority, the selection of artists is the prerogative of the ZCC.

As per the existing norms, artists' payments will be taken care of by the ZCC, and the same will be released directly to the artists' account through the PFMS system when funds are received from the Ministry of Culture under the particular scheme. There may be some procedural delays.

The applicant organisation is responsible for all other expenses such as local hospitality, boarding and lodging, local transportation, publicity, stage, light & sound, and submission of copies of photos and video documentation to the ZCC within ten days from the date of conclusion of the event under our support.

Please also note to comply meticulously with the COVID protocols of the local administration/State Government. An undertaking regarding this and an assurance of obtaining formal permission, if any, from the local administration for conducting the programme may also be kept with the request.

The South Zone Cultural Centre has not authorised anyone or any agency to represent us anywhere or contact artists. If someone approaches any artists or institutions in the name of SZCC promising programmes or artists' pensions, dealing with them will be at their own risk and responsibility. In such cases, kindly write to us by post or email full details of such person/agency with your postal address and mobile number, captioning it as CONFIDENTIAL.

The SZCC staff have their official IDs, and their entire expense of official visits, such as verifying Artists' Pension and Repertory Grant and conducting programmes, are met by the SZCC only.
